Here is what is happening in Room 167 this week
— We will start studying Immigration. Our last big unit of the year has students exploring the world of immigration…we will be looking at what it is, why people immigrated and studying the various groups and countries who left their homes to make their way to the United States. We will even be looking to see if we can find any immigrants in our own family history.
— Field Trip to Fairgate Farms. On Wednesday, which is also an early release day, we will be going to Fairgate Farms on Stillwater Avenue in Stamford. Students will be learning about healthy eating, how to take care of themselves and the environment, as well as how to plant vegetables…we may even have the chance to plant our own seeds!
— Math — we will continue to dive deeper into the world of multi-digit multiplication and division. Looking at factors and multiples, and how they help us understand how to multiply big numbers. Look for student reflections on their unit 8 math test on Seesaw. Their tests will also be making it home mid-week.
Reminder — Wednesday is an early release day — dismissal is at 1:20 pm.
It’s going to be a great week with amazing weather (hopefully). I look forward to seeing all your smiling faces tomorrow!
